Medway Area Sunday League round-up (28/01/24)

AEI Sports maintained their perfect record to go top of Division 4 after beating previous leaders Tunbury Athletic 5-1.

Daryl Herbert-Smith hit a hat-trick with Tom Brown and Lewis Odds also scoring for the victors. Danny Stevens replied for the hosts.

Tony Barber claimed the lone strike for Palmerston Athletic in their 5-1 loss to The Stumble. Isaac Graham, Aaron Hains (2), Jordan Reynolds and Lewis Johnson were their marksmen

In Division 5, Luke Tutt and Alex Carter netted as second-placed Caspian Tigers won 2-1 over New Road Athletic who scored through Steve Batt.

Rochester Eagles Reserves lost 3-0 to Anchorians Rovers, Matt Barber, Pat Hemmingway and a Rhys McGown own goal proving decisive.

Rob Lloyd (2), Liam Baker, James Hurcomb, Ben Gates and Josh Inkpen hit six for leaders Westfield Sole without reply against River.

Ronnie Porter, Dan Bailey, Ben Hetterley (2), George Hennessey, Liam Apps and James Lundie were all on target in Wigmore Wanderers’ 7-1 victory over Hempstead Valley - Chris Anderson with their consolation.

Chatham Town SR remain top of the Premier Division following a big win on Sunday.

They beat Medway Invicta 8-3 thanks to goals from Tom Davey (3), Caleb Dyce (2), Jack Couzens, Lee Duvan and Alfie Davey. Invicta replied through Jamie Blackman (2) and Michael Shoberdo.

James Alderman (4), Fjord Rogers (3), Matt Gethin (3) and Harry Lester all netted in Quested’s 11-1 win against bottom side Star Meadow, for whom Ryan Bushell netted.

Cliffe Woods Colts and Cuxton 1991 shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Robbie Summerhayes scored for Colts and Ewan Greenway for Cuxton.

Joe Tindall scored for Wigmore who lost 2-1 to Rainham Kenilworth Athletic, Ryan Jones and Brad Jones doing the damage.

In Division 1, Borden Park Wanderers went down 3-1 to Medway Sport XI. James Hutchings scored for Borden but Steve Coote, Connor Rayfield and Aaron Lorentson goals proved decisive.

Bredhurst climbed off the bottom of the Division 2 table with a 2-2 draw against Real 60, for whom Morgan Thompson and David Withey scored.

ASK Medway beat Hempstead United 3-1 with goals from Josh Walters (2) and Harry Freeman

Reif Youdale (2), Sean Molloy and Nathan Brown led Division 3 leaders Athletic Bilbowls to a 4-2 win against Pegasus 81.

Harry Montgomery led the way with five goals for New Brompton 1893 in a 9-1 triumph over Cliffe Woods Rangers. James Young (2), Andy Beattie and Fenn Peters also scored with Liam Anderson bagging a consolation.

In the Junior League Cup Semi-Final, Pentagon shaded The Walnut Tree 4-3.

Goals from a Bradley Killick penalty, Ryan Brightwell (2) and Kieran Daly proved the difference with Rory Hourihane (2) and George Baker replying for The Walnut Tree.
