Gillingham boss Ady Pennock on trialist Liam Nash

Striker Liam Nash struck twice in midweek for the Gills and head coach Ady Pennock likes what he sees.

Pennock must soon decide whether to offer the former Maldon & Tiptree striker a permanent deal with the Gills, having taken him on trial in recent weeks.

He scored 37 goals for the non-league club last season.

Pennock said: "He is training well and in the games he has been involved in he has done exceptionally well. We will see on that one.

"He is a good boy, something different. When you get trialists in you want them to impress and that is what he has done.

"When someone scores over 40 goals in one season, it doesn’t matter what level it is. If you can score for Maldon or in the Premier League, if you can score 40 goals you are a natural.

"He looks a natural but we will see."
