Cardiff City defender Deji Oshilaja backs West Ham's Josh Pask after costly error for Gillingham

Defender Deji Oshilaja insists the rest of the squad will rally around Josh Pask following Sunday’s costly error.

Pask’s handball in the box led to the winning penalty, which was converted by Sheffield United’s Billy Sharp in injury time.

Oshilaja said: “It is a tough one to take. We felt we deserved at least a draw. To come away with no points and to concede when we did was sad but the boys will pick themselves up and we will go again.

“(Josh) knows it was a bad mistake but it was one of those things which he will never do again. It was just a reaction and his arm has come out. It was like a reflex thing but we will pick him up.

“The games are coming thick and fast and we will pick him up, go again try and forget about it.”

Pask is only 18 but Oshilaja doesn’t see his team-mate as being any different.

He said: “We help each other and get through the games, talk and communicate between each other and I don’t see it as a senior player or not. We are all seniors and on the same level.

“We work hard for each other and try and do the best we can.”
