The Shouting Men: Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack writes exclusively for the KM Group

It was a good battle last Saturday, I really enjoyed it and to come away with three points was great.

He was trying to get me riled, to take me out of the game and get me to react against him to get a red card.

I was quite proud of myself that I didn’t kick out or retaliate that much, although it was tempting!

There have been a few games where people are trying to man mark me.

Against Fleetwood Jimmy Ryan was trying to follow me literally everywhere, but it is good to test yourself against that and it is a compliment. Hopefully I can keep getting the better of the opponents and we can keep winning games.

We didn’t play that well in the first half at Chesterfield but second half we really controlled it, dropped off them at the right times and got after them at the right times. We deserved our 3-1 win.

We are now sitting one point off the top after 12 games and it has been an unbelievable start to the season.

A lot of us wouldn’t have dreamed of being where we are right now but we have done it off our own back, the gaffer has drummed it into us that we have to work hard and trust each other, we have done that.

The two away games we lost were tough and we were disappointed with those but we bounced back last Saturday.
