ADAM LUCKHURST: totally blind since he was 14

A MAN who lost his sight as a teenager plans to trek to Peru but he urgently needs a guide to accompany him on the adventure of a lifetime.

Adam Luckhurst, of Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, was partially sighted from birth, but lost his vision completely at the age of 14.

However, the 29-year-old refuses to let the impairment get the better of him - and is planning a trek to Peru in September with the Kent Association for the Blind.

Mr Luckhurst needs to raise £2,500 for his trip, as well as sponsorship to go towards the charity's vital work.

He said: "Kent Association for the Blind organises activities and I have met loads of people through them. They are such a nice organisation so it's good that I will be raising money for them.

"I have just finished a reflexology course and I think reflexology originates from the Incas so it will be amazing to see where it actually comes from. I'm going to have a problem if I can't find a guide though as it really is a necessity."

The only requirements the guide needs is to be physically fit and able to raise £1,500 towards the trip's cost.
