Thirty Silver Blades ice skating rink entry tickets will be presented to each school signing, or re-signing to take part in the Walk on Wednesday (WOW) or Active Bug green travel initiatives for the next academic year.

The vouchers will be presented to the class that is top or most improved for green travel and is under the discretion of the school how and when to award.

The leisure attraction has agreed to step up its support of the walk to school charity to help get families fit and healthy.

Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team, which runs the KM Walk to School campaign, said: "The support of Silver Blades ice rink will help us expand the number of schools taking part in the schemes and provide children and families with a great reward for using green travel to get to school.

"Anything we can do to get children active is of value so we are really excited to extend the partnership with Silver Blades over the coming year."

Schools new to the walk to school campaign should click on the links for WOW or Active Bug to download the application form or call the charity on 0844 264 0292.
