Ideal Home Show puts energy first

HOW much energy does your house use? If you have ever wondered how much energy your house needs and how this energy affects the environment, you can find out at the Autumn Ideal Home Show 2006 at Earl’s Court from Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 15.

This year’s official sponsor, The Energy Saving Trust, has recently launched Save Your 20 per cent campaign, which aims to educate consumers about household energy consumption and how each homeowner can take simple steps to save energy.

As well as energy-saving ideas, visitors can find out all about the latest trends in home design, interiors, property and entertaining and have the chance to get specialist advice from leading experts such as ITV1’s Don’t Move, Improve! interiors and property specialist Alison Cork, ITV1’s Saturday Cooks’ top chef Gino D’Acampo and wine expert to the stars and Jamie Oliver’s sommelier, Matt Skinner.

Well-known names from the worlds of DIY, interiors and cookery will be giving demonstrations on the hour, every hour throughout the day and Gino D’Acampo will be on hand with his top tips for entertaining in style this autumn.

Visitors can also take a walk through the life-size Allied Carpet showhouse, which has the latest home design and trends in modern living and ultimate lifestyle luxury.

There will be a gift section filled with ideas and bargains.

In addition you can take time out in the Beauty Retreat and pamper yourself with a complimentary massage or manicure.

This year children under 16 can go along to the Autumn Ideal Home Show 2006 absolutely free, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. On the door prices are £10 (weekdays) or £12 (weekends). Concessions are available.
