Expo will be just the job

THERE will be hundreds of job opportunities at the KM Kent Careers Expo 2002. Now in its second year, the two-day event on October 3 and 4 gives firms the chance to find local jobs for local people in a wide range of industries. The event takes place at The Ramada Hotel and Resort, formerly the Great Danes Hotel and Country Club, Holling-boune, near Maidstone. More than 30 of Kent's major employers are taking part. The New Appointments Group will also have a stand at the event and Managing Director Gerry Cassell said: "We've got a list of vacancies in excess of 80 in various parts of the county, ranging from clerical to management positions. "The Careers Expo gives us unique access to people." Those interested in the pub trade will be pleased to hear Faversham-based Shepherd Neame will have a stand. Shepherd Neame's Graeme Endacott said the company had seen large growth in the last three years and was recruiting staff for 375 pub estates in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London and Essex. He added: "We're looking for pub managers, assitant managers, trainee managers, and chefs as well. As a local company we like to recruit local people." Kent Messenger classified manager Sue Huntley said: "This year's Expo comprises a broad spectrum of opportunities. I'm confident that it has something to appeal to all job seekers." Tips on CV writing and interview techniques will also be offered at the event, which will be open from 9.30am to 7pm on the Thursday. Friday opening times are 9.30am to 5pm. For information, call Sue Huntley on 01622 794666.
