Woman of 62 dies after car crash on the A259 near Brenzett close to the Tickner's Lane junction

The driver of a car involved in a crash on the Marsh yesterday has died.

The 62-year-old local woman’s car had been in collision with another the A259 near Brenzett just after 10am yesterday.

She was airlifted to a London hospital in a critical condition but died that evening.

The woman had been in a green Fiat Seicento when it was in collision with a blue Peugeot 207 near the junction with Tickner’s Lane.

Both cars had been travelling in the same direction, from Brenzett towards Lydd.

The 21-year-old driver of the Peugeot received minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit wants to hear from anyone who saw the crash or the cars beforehand.
