A woman has been taken to hospital after a car collided with a house.

The accident happened in Upper Strand Street, near the junction with Fisher Street, in Sandwich at about 2.15pm.

The air ambulance was seen circling Sandwich before landing in a field next to Ramsgate Road.

Fire crews and paramedics were also in attendance.

A woman who sustained injuries has been taken to hospital.

Firefighters have now left but the road remains closed while police are at the scene.
