Emergency services were called to a property at about 8.30pm and the Kent air ambulance reported the teenager had injuries to his throat, arm and hand.

Both victims were taken to King's College Hospital, in London, but the woman has since been released.

The teenager's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries, but are appealing for more witnesses.

DI Maxine Martin said: "A male known to the victims has been arrested.

"We would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not yet spoken to police - or who believes they have information that could assist with our enquiries - to come forward.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could greatly help our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to phone 01732 379203, quoting incident reference YY/018856/14.

A further court date is yet to be set.
