Police appeal following van crash on the A21 Sevenoaks Bypass near Tonbridge

Police have renewed an appeal for information about a serious crash on the A21.

Two men were taken to hospital after a van left the coast bound carriageway before going down a bank and colliding with a fence.

It happened between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge at around 6am on Saturday, September 3.

One man remains in hospital in a stable condition, the other has been discharged.

The van was a white, Ford Transit Connect with a yellow light on its roof and no other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who may have seen the collision or who saw the van in the moments leading up to it, to get in touch.

In particular, they want to speak to the driver of a car travelling directly behind the van when it left the road.

The teen was arrested yesterday.

It is described as a dark, medium to large size estate car with silver or light coloured roof bars that run with the length of the car.

Sgt Hannah Brown, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The occupants of this dark car are likely to have vital information on this collision taking place and it is important that we are able to speak with them.”
