Stag Community Arts Centre will host new musical the Princeford Pals this month

Local songwriters, Simon Pergande and Mike Lewis, have teamed up with award winning director Keith Neville and Sevenoaks Town Council for the production of their new musical The Princeford Pals.

The performance is is to be staged at The Stag as part of the town councils’ centenary commemorations for the start of the First World War.

The Princeford Pals is an ensemble piece with a cast of 40 and Pergande and Lewis have formed their own production company, Tuesday Nite Productions, under whose banner the show is to be produced.

The writers are thrilled to have the opportunity of seeing The Princeford Pals performed on the main stage of The Stag and not only have they waived their right to any royalties for these performances but they have also agreed with the town council that all profits will be donated to the charity, Help for Heroes.

This is not the first time that The Princeford Pals will be seen by the public as some of the songs were performed as a showcase version by Borograds and Swanley Light Opera Group (SLOG) in 2011 when a sum of just under £800 was raised at the performances and by the release of a charity CD for Help for Heroes.

It was as a result of a performance of one of the songs by The Friends of Stag last November that brought the musical to the attention of the Town Council. This performance is in aid of The Royal British Legion.

The performances will run from Friday, September 12 - Sunday, September 14.

Tickets are £10 or £7 for under 18s and military. For more info call the Stag Box Office on 01732 450175.
