Children at St George's Primary School, Chequers Road, Minster, plant bulbs and attend harvest festival at Minster Abbey

Children are looking forward to next spring after planting daffodil bulbs.

Pupils at St George’s Primary School put them into the ground on Thursday at the school in Chequers Road, Minster.

Bulbs were planted along the school’s eco walkway.

On the same day all classes made the short trip to Minster Abbey in Vicarage Road for their harvest festival and performed in two services.

The head boy and girl, Charlie Morris and Maria Campos Barbosa, gave the opening reading while the rest of the school sang hymns and recited poems. Reception pupils wore special hats they had made in lessons while children in Year 1 and Year 2 performed a harvest samba.
