A teenager's chances of becoming a top chef have been boosted thanks to a mystery benefactor.

After we featured an article about Daniel Read appearing on the Alan Titchmarsh show last month a man who did not wish to leave his name brought in a set of brand new chef knives for him.
Daniel, 15 from St Helen’s Road, Sheerness, appeared on the show to tell about the work he does caring for his mum Denise who is confined to a wheelchair due to a blood disease.
He comes home from school and cooks the tea as well as doing the washing and cleaning, as well as studying at Minster College.
He is also a carer at school, looking after disabled children and was recently presented with a Princess Diana award for his caring work.
The producers on the show found out he wants to be a chef and so presented him with a chef’s hat from Jamie Oliver’s famous London restaurant 15. He has also spent time working in the kitchens of the restaurant.
Daniel said: “I can’t believe this man has been so generous. I love the knives, they will really help me out in the kitchen.”
His mum, Denise said: “I just want to thank this person for being so kind and generous. It really does put your faith back into mankind when people do things like this.”
