An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital after falling from a boat and hitting his head.

It happened at the shingle bank, opposite Barton’s Point Coastal Park in Sheerness at 10.30am on Monday.

Paramedics responded to reports the youngster was in the water.

He was treated at the scene and then taken to Medway Maritime Hospital suffering neck and back pain.

He was fully conscious and his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
