New Road FC unveils new mascot Roadster Racoon at summer fun day fundraiser in New Road, Sheerness

A football club unveiled its new mascot at its fund raising summer fun day.

Roadster Racoon was also joined by Spider-Man and one of the Minions from Despicable Me at New Road FC’s playing field in New Road, Sheerness, on Sunday.

Other activities included a gladiator duel, bog roll basketball, a beat the goalie competition and a speed trap to measure how fast punters could kick a ball.

A total of £1,200 was raised which will go back into the club.

Corinne Hubbard, the under-eights manager, thanked local building, groundwork and paving company JB Developments for donating £200 for the purchase of the Roadster Racoon outfit and accessories.

She said: “He went down extremely well. Everyone was pleased to see him and we are hoping to get him out to home games and tournaments as much as possible.”
