Sheppey honey farm, in Elmley Road, Brambledown, is the bees’ knees again, say visitors

A popular Island attraction has been commended by a tourist website – for the second year running.

Flynn’s Bee Farm has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2014 by TripAdvisor, a site where travellers can review restaurants and hotels they have visited anywhere in the world.

The accolade, which they received for the first time last year, means they consistently earn top ratings from visitors.

Flynn’s, in Elmley Road, Brambledown, has been going since 1973 and as well as producing honey and beeswax, it has a restaurant and tea room which opened nine years ago.

Sudi Austin, who runs the company with her husband Chris, said she always feels nervous when she gets notification of a new review on the site, but is constantly delighted to read the positive comments and thanked everyone for their support.

“I can’t believe we have won it again, when you think how big TripAdvisor is,” she said. “I’m so excited and elated and proud.

“It seems Sheppey has lots of hidden attractions to offer – and our tea room is one of them and so say all who have visited.”
