Man appears at Medway Magistrates' Court accused of trying to steal ATM in Queenborough

A 38-year-old from Essex has appeared in court after he allegedly tried to steal a cash machine from Morrisons in Sheerness.

Keiron Armstrong, of Brays Mead in Harlow, appeared by virtual court from Medway Police Station at Medway Magistrates’ Court.

He has been charged with conspiracy to steal an automated telecommunications machine belonging to Barclays.

Officers were called to the Morrisons supermarket in Thompsett Way, Queenborough, at about 1.40am yesterday following reports that a digger had been used to try to remove the ATM from a wall.

Armstrong will remain in custody and appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 16.
