A missing cat has been reunited with his delighted owner, after being found more than two months later and 13 miles away.

Michelle Dobson’s beloved pet Charlie disappeared from her caravan at Little Groves Holiday Park, Leysdown Road, Leysdown, on Friday, May 31.

She had searched everywhere and all but lost hope of ever seeing her beloved moggie again.

But the fearless feline had some how made it all the way over to Ian Baxendale’s house in Hawthorn Road, Sittingbourne, a full 13.1 miles away from Londoner Miss Dobson’s holiday get away.

The 45-year-old was in Majorca when she got a text from a friend saying five-year-old Charlie had turned up.

Fortunately he is micro-chipped so after Mr Baxendale took him to the vet, they were able to trace his owner.

A friend picked up the curious cat and returned him to Miss Dobson’s house in Lewisham, where he was looked after by family until she got back from her holiday last Saturday.

“I really thought I would never see him again,” she said.

“He had been appearing in Ian’s garden for about three weeks and had made himself quite comfortable there after he started feeding him.

“I think Charlie must have been taken. I can only assume that and then they’ve let him go because he hasn’t settled or they have let him out and he didn’t go back.

“He’s got about six weeks unaccounted for but I don’t care, he’s back.

“I’d like to thank Ian very much. I’m so grateful to him.

“It was lovely when I got home – he was sitting on the top of my shed and I called him and he came running down.”

Apart from being a bit thin, Miss Dobson says Charlie appears completely unaffected by his mystery mission and is happy to be home with his owner, her daughter Lauren, 15, partner Chris Keener and their other pets including rottweiler Bella.
