Pupils hope to snooze ther way to stardom

A group of dance pupils held a sponsored sleep over to raise money to help them on their way to performing in the West End.

The youngsters from Helen K’s School of Dance have been invited to perform at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, but they need to raise funds to pay for their costumes.

Last Saturday students took part in a sponsored danceathon and spent three hours dancing solidly.

It is hoped the danceathon and sleep over, along with an on-going raffle, have raised about £1,800.

Helen Kyriacou said: “They were so excited they came back to the studio early.

“Some bought tents which they put up in the studio, and others had sleeping bags.

“We had pillow fights and sleeping bag races – they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
