Shops at Neats Court in Queenborough still closed after Storm Doris

Several shops on a retail park at Queenborough are still closed after being forced to shut following Storm Doris.

A wall between the Cancer Research UK building and the GHM! (Guess How Much) at Neats Court was said to have "cracked and moved" on Thursday afternoon as the county was battered by strong winds.

The park's units had to be evacuated and firefighters were called in at about 4pm.

The site has since been referred to the South Thames Gateway Building Control Partnership team and its surveyors have visited to assess the nature of the damage.

Its spokesman said: “For safety reasons, we have advised occupiers to have their premises checked by their own surveyors before re-opening their stores to the public."

While Sports Direct, Iceland and The Original Factory Shop have reopened, Cancer Research, GHM!, B&M and Poundland remain closed.
