Prizes and charity cash handed out at golf ceremony

MORE than 100 members of Sheerness Golf Club attended the annual presentation day.

Joe Creasey won the Junior Championship while Alex Marsh took the Junior Gaz Powell Cup.

The Courage Cup was won by Maurice McElhone with Steve Crust the winner of the Fenton Cup.

Other winners included Keith Ludlam who won the May Cup and Robert Whitington who received the Neville Cup.

Club officials also handed over money to the club’s selected charities.

Medway Health Trust (Cancer Unit) received a cheque for £4,000 while Demelza House, Sheerness Army Cadet Force and 1st Minster Girls Brigade received £1,300 each.

Club secretary Alan Jones said: "We have competitions every week but we don’t try and do presentations every week.

"What we tend to do is a major one at the end of the season when we invite all the winners from throughout the year to receive their prizes. It went really well."
