Swale CCG among Kent agencies vowing to improve mental health care and support

Swale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is among agencies across Kent to sign a pledge to improve care and support for people with mental health conditions.

The Kent and Medway Mental Health Crisis Concordat is a joint statement describing what people with mental illness should expect from local councils, the police and the health service.

They have agreed to improve in areas such as making early interventions, cross-agency cooperation and providing a plan to help prevent patients from going through further crises.

Dr Fiona Armstrong, chairman of Swale CCG, said: “Improving services for people with poor mental health is a key part of our health plans for Swale, and the concordat will help us to support those most in need.”
