Air ambulance called in

An elderly woman pedestrian has been injured after being hit by a car near Sainsbury's, Sittingbourne.

It is not clear where exactly the accident happened but Avenue of Remembrance was closed off after police were called at 2.55pm.

Kent Air Ambulance was called and landed in a field at Borden Grammar School.

The details of the woman's injuries are unclear at this stage but she was left in the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service.
