The Turkish restaurant is known in Kent for its branch in Canterbury High Street.

Customers have been told the eatery will open tomorrow (Friday, January 12).

Meanwhile, Galata Mezze announced it was closing for renovations in July after revealing an ambitious plan to renovate.

It was aiming to ditch its existing canopy and replace it with a light structure with glass panels to create more tables on its esplanade.

One of the restaurant's chefs, Tacim Yetis, won the Chef of the Year prize in the 10th annual British Kebab Awards in March.

Galate Mezze, which opened in October 2019, did not provide a statement informing customers of the closure.

Galata Mezze and Ocakbsi of Kent have been approached to comment.
