Fire at derelict flats in Eagle Close, Murston

Firefighters tackled a blaze at a multi-storey block of flats in Sittingbourne after reports of smoke coming out of a building.

Crews originally feared someone was in the building, after being told it had been occupied.

After arriving at the Eagles Close, Murston block at just after 6.30pm this evening they wore breathing apparatus and put out the fire in a fourth storey flat, using high-pressure hose reel jets.
