There were delays on the A249 after a van fire near Sittingbourne.

The south-bound carriageway was partially blocked due to the blaze near the Key Street Roundabout.

Congestion was reported to be stretching back to Bobbing at one point, but delays have since cleared.

Earlier, there were also reports of a crash on the M2 between Sittingbourne and Gillingham, causing delays on both carriageways due to people slowing down to look.

Kent Highways says the M2 incident happened at about 6pm.

The scene was clear and traffic had returned to normal by 6.30pm.
