Police dog helps arrest men and teenager after chase from Faversham to Murston, Sittingbourne

A police dog helped arrest two men and a teenage boy after a chase.

Lenny, a German Shepherd, was on patrol with his handler at about 2.35am on Friday when the pair spotted a suspicious vehicle on the A2 at Faversham.

The officer signalled for the vehicle to stop but it sped off before stopping in Murston, Sittingbourne.

The occupants ran off, but Lenny caught one of them in Church Road.

The police helicopter was also scrambled, which led to officers finding the other two in a farm off Blacketts Road in Tonge.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and possession of cannabis, and a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped for theft.

They have since been released from police custody under investigation.
