Man charged after alleged stabbing

A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged stabbing in Kent.

A man, in his 20s, needed an emergency operation after suffering a reported stab wound to the stomach in Murston, near Sittingbourne, on Thursday.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, where he remains in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Lee Charlesworth, 34, of Thomas Road, Sittingbourne has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been remanded in custody.
