Former Borden Grammar schoolboy Jake Lee starts company teaching people to trade using foreign markets

Forget what you think you know about financial markets thanks to films like Wolf of Wall Street, one teenager is showing how it should be done properly.

Jake Lee is just 19, and a former Borden Grammar schoolboy, and now he’s set up his own company trading in the foreign exchange market.

He decided to start his business in January last year while he was still at school.

His aim is to help novices learn about the foreign exchange market, including how to learn and make money. And it comes from a good background, Jake says he’s made tens of thousands himself.

The Borden resident said: “When I was 14 my dad worked in London and had friends who worked as investment bankers.

“I started looking into learning to trade myself and from 16 onwards I got qualifications and taught myself to do it.

“Lots of my family and friends started asking me to trade their money for them but you can’t do that, so I needed something which helped them learn to get into trading.”

With help from a millionaire investor, Jake has built up a company which he hopes will help others launch their careers.

Started in 2016, Improve Your Future Trading offers services from coaching on how it works, to analysis of the current markets and help on when’s best to buy and sell.

People will be able to use the website for a monthly fee and will have access to everything they need to learn to trade.

So far, he has had more than 500 clients and he has made more than £13,000 in one single trade.

Jake added: “You get a trial period to see if it works for you and then it’s £79 a month with access to everything.”

The foreign exchange market is where participants are able to buy, sell, exchange and speculate on currencies and the markets are made up of banks, commercial companies, central banks, investment management firms, plus brokers and investors.

Jake’s website, launching on September 7, will be at iyftrading.com
