Two men were taken to hospital after a crash involving four cars in Sittingbourne.
One of the casualties had to be cut free by firefighters after the impact left him trapped inside.
It happened in Crown Quay Lane just before 6pm.
A fire service spokesman said crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of one of the cars to release the trapped man.
"He was then handed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service," he said.
"Three other male drivers were already out of their vehicles prior to fire crews arrival.
"It is believed two men were taken to hospital."
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and left just before 7.30pm.
