WESTLANDS School pupil Sean Molloy is setting the pace in the youth running scene after winning a string of events.
The 13-year-old took up running last year and already he has run his way to becoming county champion for the under 15 age group at both 800 metres and 1,500 metres distances.
Sean is at least a year younger than the other runners he has been up against. His former PE teacher at Westlands, Stuart Nicholson, realised he had potential and encouraged him to start cross country running.
Sean is ranked second fastest in Britain for 800 metres in the under 15s range. He will be taking part in the Kent School Games on June 12 and June 13 and the English School Games in Sheffield on July 10 and July 11.
Sean says he would like to be in the 2016 Olympics.
