Sittingbourne boss Nick Davis has made contact with several former Woodstock Sports players.

Goalkeeper Dean Warford, defenders Tom Montgomery and Rob Saunders, midfielder George Blake and forward Brett Ince have been invited along to pre-season training.

They are looking for new clubs after Sports folded at the end of the season.

Davis said: “Lee Hockey (ex-Sports boss) rung me with a few numbers, so I’ve been in touch and intend to give these players a fair crack of the whip.

“They all did well at Woodstock, they’re in their early 20s and want to push on.

“Other clubs have noticed them but apparently we’ve got first go, although I know Brett Ince has a few offers.

“They weren’t getting paid at Woodstock’s so it’s potentially an ideal situation for us if we can work something out.”
