New boss Nick Davis is hoping to bring the good times back to Sittingbourne.

The 32-year-old former joint-manager is back to take sole charge of the club after he was chosen to succeed Matt Wyatt.

Davis said: “I know non-league football well and know Sittingbourne are a big club and have been a big club before, with big gates back in the day at Bourne Park.

“Why can’t we have those days again? Why can’t this team be playing in the Ryman League Premier Division or above? I’ll bring stability and continuity to the team and those teams that have done well in the past have had that.

“I know a lot of people at the club and how the club is run and they know me. The club needs stability and a familiar face and hopefully I can steady the ship, keep the people there and bring one or two in. I’m delighted to get the job.”

Davis was previously joint-boss alongside Wyatt before the Brickies decided to operate with just one man. Wyatt stayed on but left last month after disagreements with the club’s board.

Saturday’s Ryman League Division 1 South match at Three Bridges is subject to an altered kick-off time due to a fireworks party at the club. Supporters are advised to check before travelling.
