Sittingbourne’s exciting on-loan Charlton midfielder Connor Leon is interesting Barnet.

The teenager is on trial with the Vanarama Conference leaders, which could restrict his involvement with the Brickies.

Leon was handed his first start since joining Bourne in a 1-0 defeat at Ryman League, Division 1 South leaders Burgess Hill last weekend.

Boss Nick Davis rates Leon and wants him to play when Bourne host struggling Ramsgate at Woodstock Park on Saturday.

Davis said: “We gave him a little free role against Burgess Hill and I’m just hoping we’ll have him this weekend because he’s on trial at Barnet now.

“He has ambitions to be a professional footballer and if it’s not going to happen at Charlton, he may be able to get a contract at Barnet."

Sittingbourne are fighting off interest in Peter Smith from Southern Counties East Phoenix ahead of the game against Rams.

They are optimistic the holding midfielder will stay but have lost striker David Abe, who has decided to take a break from senior football.
