Sittingbourne have signed midfielder Dave Pilcher from Kent rivals Hythe.

Brickies boss Nick Davis moved for the youngster after Ollie Bankole rejoined Hastings and handed him his debut in the 1-1 draw at Redhill last weekend.

Davis said: “We put in a seven-day approach but Hythe were good enough to let us speak to him before it was up.

“I heard on the grapevine he might be looking to get away as he hadn’t been playing.

“He did play 15 or 16 games for Hythe this season but they’ve brought in a bit of experience recently and been on a good run. He’s come out of Dover’s academy and played
half a season at Ramsgate last year.

“He’s an attacking midfielder with good technique and a free-kick and corner specialist. He’s a good fit for us and it was a no-brainer.”

Bankole only joined Sittingbourne from Hastings this season but has returned in a bid to help them stay in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Brickies, who drew 0-0 with Tooting & Mitcham on Tuesday night, should be at full strength when they host Worthing on Saturday (3pm).

Davis said: “We’ve been good at home lately and it’s important we take that into next year."
