Ramsgate: Police appeal for witnesses after attempted robbery in Leopold Street

A 12-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault after a boy was targeted by a group of children on bikes.

A boy sitting on a bench in Leopold Street, Ramsgate, was approached by the group and reportedly assaulted by two of the children.

One is described as a boy with ginger hair and the second as a boy wearing a blue top with red trim.

A girl with dark hair then attempted to steal his mobile phone before they all cycled away from the area.

Officers investigating the incident, which happened at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, November 29, are now trying to find witnesses - including a woman who spoke to the victim immediately after the incident.

The 12-year-old suspect, who was arrested on Thursday, November 30, was later released under investigation.
