EastEnders scenes shot in Thanet to run this evening

EastEnders fans from Thanet may recognise a few locations in tonight's episode of the popular soap.

Members of the cast and crew visited Broadstairs in June to shoot several scenes including an emotional section in which the ashes of character Stan Carter were scattered.

Actors Danny Dyer, who plays Mick Carter, Linda Henry (Shirley Carter), Annette Badland (Aunt Babe) and Luisa Bradshaw-White (Tina Carter) were all on set.

Cast and crew members visited Morelli’s ice cream parlour in Broadstairs and took a walk along the Promenade on the first day of two days shooting in Thanet.

After recording the stars spent time posing for photos with fans.

Claire Simpson, 31, was outside Morelli’s ice cream parlour when she bumped into Danny Dyer. She said: “I was out on my daily walk with my 19-week-old little boy Erik when we spotted some filming and I realised it was EastEnders.

“As they finished a scene Danny asked me how old Erik was and I asked for a photo, the crew and cast were lovely.

“I have been watching the show since I can remember and it was all very exciting to see them using my home town, it’s a great location.”

EastEnders will is on tonight at 7.30pm on BBC 1
