Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello-winners alt-J have announced that they have changed the venue for their Margate show in September.

The band have decided to play at Margate Winter Gardens on Tuesday, September 5, rather than the original plan to play at Dreamland.

Alt J have switched venues for their September gig

On a post on Facebook, the band wrote: “Same date, different venue.

“All tickets are valid for new venue.

“If for any reason you cannot make it to the new venue you can get a refund from point of purchase up to 15th August.”

Formed in 2007 in Leeds, the Brit-nominated Indie rock band have developed a loyal - and growing - fan base.

A Dreamland spokesman said: "Dreamland along with the promoter have taken the decision to move the event due to the high demand and because of the capacity constraints of the venue."
