Margate: Marcus Turner arrested and charged over robbery in Union Row

A man has been arrested and charged by police investigating a robbery in Margate which happened on Saturday.

31-year-old Marcus Turner, of no fixed address, was charged yesterday following an incident in Union Row in which a man had a mobile phone and wallet stolen.

Turner was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates yesterday and is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, June 19.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested in connection, but has since been released pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
