But instead of taking her home, he is said to have parked the car at Joss Bay, where he is alleged to have raped her throughout the day.

The incident is said to have happened between 6.30am and 3.10pm on Saturday, June 11.

Police believe a number of people were in the area and are asking them to come forward.

Detective Constable Stuart Tracey said: "The 11 of June was a warm sunny Saturday and there were lots of people in the Joss Bay area.

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw the pair. They had been in a silver Volkswagen car which had been parked in the car park."

The 28-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries.
