Appeal after man's ear bitten off in Harbour Street, Ramsgate

A man was left needing surgery after part of his ear was bitten off as he tried to break up a street fight.

The victim was walking home with a group of friends after an evening drinking in Ramsgate when he came across a punch-up.

The group tried to break it up, but the victim was then punched several times to the floor by two men.

One of them then bit the lower part of his earlobe off.

He was rushed to a local hospital but later transferred to a London hospital for surgery.

He is now recovering at home after the attack, which happened at about 2am on Friday, March 6.

One of the men is described as white, in his early 20s, about 6ft 2in and wearing a black hooded top with a white t-shirt underneath and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is described as white, about 5ft 11in and wearing a blue tracksuit.

Detective Constable Andrew Rogers said: "We know that there were a lot of people around at the time of the incident and we are really keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the attack, particular a man who we believe may have filmed the attack on his mobile phone."
