This is the dramatic moment a car went up in flames in Margate - seconds after a baby is believed to have been saved.

The Range Rover erupted into a fireball in Queen's Avenue at about 3.10pm today.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said police were called as the cause of the blaze is investigated.

A spokesman said it is possibly being treated as suspicious "due to the nature of the fire and the positioning of the vehicle".

Thick black smoke billowed into the sky as horrified passers-by looked on.

Witnesses said a baby had been removed from the vehicle just before it erupted.
