Kent Police called to Canterbury Road, Margate, after collision between man and a vehicle

A man in his 30s is in a critical condition in a London hospital after being hit by a vehicle.

Kent Police were called to Canterbury Road, Margate, near to its junction with Hartsdown Road, at 10.49pm last night.

The man was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Redhill, Surrey, before being transferred to St George's in London.

He was suffering from head, neck and upper arm injuries.

The road, which was closed earlier this morning, has now reopened.
