A mum from Margate was the first lucky winner of the Cash for Christmas competition.

kmfm surprised Gillian Johnson this evening when Rob Wills called her during his drivetime show just after 6pm.

She had text during the breakfast show with Garry and Claire and had forgotten all about it.

"I can't believe it, I heard it earlier this morning and entered but I have never won anything like this before." said Gill.

"I will treat my children Isabelle and Amelia to a gift and then spend the rest on a holiday I guess."

The competition started on December 2 at 6pm and promised listeners the chance to win £2,000 2 hours later.

kmfm has given away over £35,000 during 2021 during competitions like £1000 Friday, Best Summer Ever, Say It and Music Blaster and there are still 2 chances to win money on Breakfast and Drivetime.
