A BTP spokesman said: “We were called to Tonbridge station after a report of a customer being abusive to staff.

“A man was acting aggressively towards staff and passengers, and a Tunbridge Wells to Cannon Street service was held at the station to await police arrival.

“A 22-year-old man from Tonbridge was subsequently arrested for common assault, fare evasion, and criminal damage.

“He currently remains in custody.”

A spokesman for Southeastern said: "The police were called to Tonbridge station to deal with a disruptive passenger. The incident caused delays to our services through Tonbridge while the matter was dealt with.”
