Oliver Stonard of Hadlow Park in Tonbridge sentenced at Medway Magistrates Court for possessing offensive weapon and assault

A man has been sentenced after possessing an offensive weapon.

Oliver Stonard of Hadlow Park had an offensive weapon, namely a baseball bat, in his possession without lawful authority or reasonable excuse on December 18.

The same day he assaulted a man in Mill Road, Gillingham.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to the first offence and not guilty to assault but was convicted of both by magistrates.

He was sentenced on December 1 at Medway Magistrates' Court and was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

He must also pay £100 in compensation, £400 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
