A busy road has been closed in both directions following concerns for a woman's welfare.

The A26 Tonbridge Road has been shut and is causing delays from B2163 Teston Lane, Teston, to North Street, Barming.

A police spokesman said: "At around 2.26pm officers responding to concerns for the welfare of a woman stopped a car on the A26 near Barming.

"South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the woman received medical attention and was taken to hospital."
