Suspected meat thief charged after £450 worth of goods stolen from Sainsbury’s at the Angel Centre in Tonbridge

A shoplifting suspect accused of stealing more than £450 worth of meat from a supermarket has been charged.

Mark Tribe, of Chantry Road, Marden is alleged to have targeted the Sainsbury’s at the Angel Centre in Angel Lane, Tonbridge on three occasions.

The alleged offences took place between February 3 and yesterday (February 26).

The 53-year-old was arrested after a constable from the town’s community safety unit who was on patrol was alerted.

He was advised by CCTV operators that a suspect was present at Tonbridge Railway Station yesterday.

A man was arrested in a waiting room and a quantity of meat products was seized.

Tribe was bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on March 13.
